Our Story
A Little Bronx, A Lot of Heart
Arthur Ave Deli started with one man and one idea. In 1985, Rich Saccomanno left corporate America to chase something more honest: real food, made by hand, for people he'd come to know by name. After running a restaurant in Armonk through the 80s, he opened the deli in 1993, bringing the authentic Italian cooking he grew up loving, the kind rooted in Arthur Avenue, the Bronx's real Little Italy, home to Putnam County. More than thirty years later, it's still family owned and operated. Same recipes, same standards, same care in every hero, tray, and pound of fresh mozzarella. No shortcuts. Just real Italian food made by people who grew up eating it.

The Faces Behind the Counter
We're a family business in every sense of the word. What Rich started in 1985 is still run the same way today, behind the slicer, at the register, and elbow-deep in fresh mozzarella before the sun's all the way up.
We brought the standards of Arthur Avenue north and never let them slip. Homemade dry soppressata and sausage. Mozzarella pulled fresh daily. Subs named after the people and stories that make this place ours. And now the next generation is stepping in to keep it going.
When you walk in, you're not a ticket number. You're a neighbor. And after thirty years, a lot of you feel like family too.
